COME SEE WHAT ALL THE BUZZ IS ABOUT! LIVE OBSERVATION HIVES The bees have returned, and are busy making farm-fresh honey. Buzz in with your family, and bee sure to see the bees making honey in our live observation hives, while learning about honeybees and the wonderful world of honey! Our indoor observation hives let you watch live bees coming in and out of the hive, and convert nectar into honey, which they store in honeycomb cells that the beekeepers will later harvest. You will also learn about the life of a bee and their importance to our ecosystem. After you tour our facility, visit our Farm Market to purchase the fresh honey made on-site, as well as some of our premium pure and natural honey products! THE ANTS COME TOGETHER AT OASIS FAMILY FARM! LIVE OBSERVATION ANT COLONY Did you know ants have been living on the Earth for more than 100 million years and with over 20,000 different species of ants, they can be found almost anywhere on the planet? Ants are social insects, and most live in colonies, which can consist of millions of members. There are three different kinds of ants: the queen, the male, and the female worker. An ant can lift 20 times its own body weight, and has a life expectancy of about 40-60 days! Come discover the fascinating miniature world of live ants. Visit our indoor observatory, and learn a lesson from the ant! Watch as ants tunnel their way around the observatory, and see how ants live, work and protect their territory. |
